Do you want your child to be the best?
That could be working against your relationship…
Parenting is an extremely unique process. Even though I have no personal experience, as a camp counselor, I gained many useful insights. You want the best for your children, why wouldn’t you? Yet you find yourself constantly frustrated with your inability to control the outcomes of their activities.
Athletics, in particular, have so many moving parts that are individualized for every athlete, every team, and therefore every parent. Because of this, there are not “one size fits all” suggestions to give all parents of all athletes. Personalized sessions with parents are so important.
Sessions with parents would include individual sessions as well as group sessions with the athlete. These may vary based on the relationships involved. While I hope all parents would be interested, if there is one quick tip it would be to CONTROL THE CONTROLLABLES - you can control your relationship with your child and will never be able to control the outcome of the games they play.
